Dear Romance Readers,
April always signifies a time of renewal to me. Even though March proved to be a very tough month of loss in our family and my circle of friends, I feel a pull to recharge my battery and look to the future.
One accomplishment achieved last month was finishing a short Christmas story that’s yet to be contracted by my publisher. We’ll see, but “Wings of an Angel” was written before all the sadness in my family began. It’s a story of hope and survival. Two young people are affected by modern-day war in different ways.
Jess is a former Marine with a war injury. Madeleine is a war widow at twenty six stuck in an unhappy place. An angel makes an appearance in this story and plays an important role. Now I ask you, what Christmas story would be complete without an angel. I like this story and hope it makes the cut. If so, it will be available as e-book only due to its short length. Stay tuned. I’ll let you know the outcome.
April will be a busy month. Saturday, April 7th, I’ve a two-author event at a local library, then mid-April the RT Convention here in Chicago and finally, April 27th, Spring Fling. A writer’s conference hosted by my Chicago RWA writers group.
As many of you know, Friday, February 24th was an exciting day. It marked the release of my latest novel “Cutter Mountain Rendezvous”. So far, folks have responsed well to the story, and I hope you will check it out. Read 5-STAR review on Amazon.
Here’s a little blurb about the book:
After a failed marriage and with her song writing career tanking, Kate Crockett leaves Nashville for Cutter Mountain, Tennessee. With an inn to renovate and a daughter to raise, she’s ready to leave her past behind. Life should be perfect…except nothing is going according to plan. The last thing she needs is to be rescued by another man, regardless of how sexy he is.
Chicago Bullets pitcher Colton Gray is traveling incognito, hoping to escape media attention as he recovers from an injury. The last thing he needs is a distraction, yet when a beautiful woman mistakes him for a carpenter, he decides a little renovating will keep his mind off his problems.
There is more than mischief between Colton and Kate. Bizarre phone calls, a stranger lurking in the shadows, and an old claim on her inn threaten to destroy Kate’s future. Colton has secrets…and connections. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect her. But can Kate learn to trust again before it’s too late?
In closing, you know what I like to say…never let the sun go down on your anger and kiss your hero goodnight.
Wishing you peace,Barbara Weitz

PRAISE FOR BARB’S MAY 2011 DEBUT NOVEL …”TEED UP FOR LOVE”
* Romancing the Book Reviews- 5 STARS – The writing in Teed Up for Love is entertaining and fun to read. I found that I couldn’t make myself quit reading and thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a quick, fun, entertaining and light hearted read. There is a few emotional parts that tug at your heart and make the story all the more memorable. I would recommend this story to anyone that enjoys romance between a couple that don’t have to give up who they are for what they want…they just have to figure out how to make it work.
* Got Romance Reviews – 4 STARS – A witty story full of fun but it also addresses plenty of serious issues in a delightful way that brings out emotions but isn’t too heavy.
